For KIERIN, clean and conscious is not a claim that “natural” is automatically better, or that modern fragrance materials are something to fear. It is a commitment to thoughtful formulation, responsible choices, clear information and respect for the people who wear our fragrances.
VEGAN + CRUELTY-FREE
Kindness belongs in luxury.
KIERIN is a vegan, cruelty-free fragrance house. PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies resources list KIERIN as cruelty-free and include the brand among vegan companies that do not test on animals.
MODERN PERFUMERY
Source is not a safety shortcut.
Fine fragrance may use materials from natural and synthetic sources. We do not present one as inherently safer than the other. What matters is how materials are selected, formulated and used.
PURPOSEFUL CHOICES
Less theatre. Less effort. More intention.
We favor artful, paper-based packaging, vegetable dyes and fewer unnecessary layers. By avoiding cellophane where practical, we pursue refinement with less material.
AFTER THE LAST SPRAY
How to recycle your KIERIN packaging
Recycling rules vary by municipality. Empty and separate removable components, then follow your local program’s instructions.
Paper packaging
Flatten the paperboard box and inserts. Place them with paper recycling where paperboard is accepted.
Glass bottle
Rinse the empty container prior to disposal. Recycle glass containers only if your local program accepts cosmetic or fragrance glass. Do not break the bottle.
Engraved wood cap
The cap contains small traces of plastic, though it is mostly wood. Check local guidelines before placing it in recycling as some programs may allow, while others may not permit recycling.
Atomizer
The pump and atomizer contain mixed materials and are not curbside recyclable. Place them in household trash. Always be careful not to break the glass.
What “clean” means here
We use the word carefully. Everything around us is made of chemicals, and an ingredient’s natural or synthetic origin does not determine whether it is appropriate for a cosmetic product. Not all "natural" ingredients are safe and some synthetic ingredients are more sustainable than natural ones.
Instead, KIERIN’s standard is more useful: make considered choices, work responsibly, communicate clearly, and keep improving as materials, science, regulation and packaging evolve.

Sustainability means different things to different brands. For KIERIN, it begins with a commitment to a goal: doing the best we believe we can, with good intentions and care for the people who choose our fragrances.
We approach that goal as humans, with room to learn and a responsibility to put our intentions into practice. Our aim is to make thoughtful choices about materials, sourcing and packaging while delivering the quality, creativity and scent experience our customers seek.
That is our idea of balance: care for people and the natural world, alongside the pleasure and purpose of perfume. A continuing commitment to consider, learn and improve.

Substance matters. A sustainability framework that addresses biodiversity, sustainable agricultural practices, social and human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing and natural-material programs that include long-term sourcing relationships and fair-trade sources where available, with attention to traceability and local impact, is worth the extra expense.
